Ok cool, I was wondering what the point was but all makes sense now.
Thank you. :)
I didn't think anything of it at the time but 1 of the bolts had fallen out of the valve body, it was the only thing in the pan that shouldn't have been & now my overdrive works again so all good
Great thread ripper, you've done an excellent job!
I'm certainly going to do this to my TB42E wagon. I saw them talking about it on the 4x4 TV show the other day & they were saying how good it is...
Looks like you've got yourself a good mechanic. Mine has also lost 4th but I just dropped the pan of mine to find it was spotless clean so it looks like mine is electrical. For some reason 4th is...
There should be a compliance plate in the corner of the engine bay behind the drives side headlight on the inner guard. It'll have a diff code on it, mine says H46 which means it's got a H260 diff &...
Hi guys, Does anyone know the stock diff ratios for an 85 MQ shorty, L28?
I just bought it & intend to do it up with 35's, lift kit, V8 & an auto.
Bjorn.
I was wondering how that switch worked.

If it's clean you're doing it wrong.
Would anyone know where I could get a front tail shaft for an MQ in Victoria?

Personaly I'd go with the forward facing scoop. Anything above 40km/h & most thermos becomes useless but I do agree at low speeds it'd be helpfull. If I was going to do a rear facing scoop I'd make...
Yeah that would be one way to explain it. Basicaly I wana be able to stand in the back when we go shooting so removing the roof would be awesome.

Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyones ever tried to fit a removable canopy from a shortie onto a GQ wagon? I'm not sure if it'll measure up close enough to fit or not & any help would be great.

Bloody nice stubbie holder if you ask me.
He's just jelous & needs it to feel better about driving a toymota, oh & stop his winch crushing his grill.
I'm looking at fitting an LS1 (350 from a late model commodore) or possibly an LS7 (427) to my GQ wagon. There are a few advantages to the late model injected V8's: No dizzy, lightweight & easy to...
Hi mate, do you have any other mods to accomodate the 35's under your GQ & did it make much differance to the speedo?

I agree with MudRunnerTD & have been told running cruiser wheels on your patrol is a good thing when you wana run big wide wheels due to the offset.
Think I'll go with 33's next time.

I thought this post might have had a few more comments on it...
I'm 100% revhead & hoon but I'm smart enough to know there's a time & a place for everything & normally it's "not" in town.
The only...
Hi guys, I Bught my first 4x4 about 12 months ago. It's a 92 GQ TB42E auto wagon.
I was told it had a reco box in it, I worked with the guy I bought it off & overdrive worked perfectly for about 6...
Nice job mate!
Apart from the windows which I don't think count, I haven't washed mine since I bought it 12 months ago.

Looking at the video & being a Fitter & Turner/ engineer by trade it would be a lot easier to just use some rod or flat to weld 2 of the bolt heads together. This makes the 2 bolts un removable...
Hi guys,
Has anyone tried using 1 of those towbar tongue winch mounts?
I'm going to weld a tow point to my front non winch bar so I can go forwards or backwards & keep the winch locked up safe in...
