I found where the problem is. The engage solenoid is faulty, no sucking when diff lock switch is on, while the disengage solenoids works fine.

yep. Forgot about that one. But a small 6 cylinder such as rd28TDI is more reliable than early zd30. And quieter too.:)

Having it for 6 years now and never had issues.

The manual doesn't say anything about the assembly itself, will remove it and fix it then update it here.

I do think 6 cylinder engines are more reliable. 12h-t, 1hd-t, 2h, td42, to name a few.

And they are quieter, because the structure. 4 cylinder ones shake a lot. Perhaps that is why.

The previous owner did it. Rails needed to be customized for sure. And very close to the door so the anything in the door holder is not reachable with door closed....

Yesterday I was checking the rear diff lock, not as the manual says, there is not a diff lock indicator on when I turn the diff lock switch on.

I started the engine for sure as it is vacuum...
