Welcome mate! :)
Welcome mate! :)
Fair go mate, I hope you get it all sorted soon. Must be driving you nuts.
Never been real keen on hotting up engines, the cost is reliability, unfortunately you are supporting my theory.
When its all finished it should be a ripper 4B, good luck with it all.
Welcome to the forum mate
Thanks macca,
Yeah coming from the jap import milk carton scene, diesels are are in a totally different ballpark. Only ever owned nissans though .
The information and knowledge I have gained is incredible. The support I have received from other 4x4 owners roadside is incredible though as well. What I have learnt over three years has allowed me to pay it forward to others who are roadside as well. From electrical issues, cooling systems, mechanical knowledge and various other lessons has allowed me to assist many others broken down on the side of tracks, freeways and inner city has helped maintain a positive view on 4wders.
I was returning to Sydney 2 weeks ago and another 4eder had broken down from a blown radiator and I just happened to have my old radiator in the truck and they were lucky to have an rd28 in their patrol, so I just put my old one in their truck and refused to take their money for it. I just said "all I ask is that next time you see someone else in trouble, just pay it forward".
If I can help others I will, enough said.
A second hand radiator for someone in need is a small price to pay.
I am not trying to change the world, just trying to keep the old Aussie tradition of lending a hand alive. That in itself will keep the butterfly effect continuing. At least that is what I hope for.
Mate well done, they must have thought Santa had arrived. Just happen to have a radiator that fits. Great yarn.
wow great intro but might scare me off 4WD for life :)
i was looking for info on timing chain r and r on 3.0 and this came up in search. I must ask questions as i cant download the workshop manual so i hoping to find info i need in the forums
Jack,
Wondering if you could tell us a bit about your rd28 to TD42 conversion ..... about to start one myself .... just picked up a 1997 ST GQ with a blown rd28 and an already rebuilt and turboed TD42 and gearbox.
