LOL, thanks thats improved my outlook. Currently stuck in a factory running a shutdown, its drizzly wet and cold and the crew are about as motivated as i am to do anything - going to be a long long day.
Problem = Excessive number of Pillows.
Solution = Borrow my German Shepherd.
Method = leave bedroom door open and turn your back.
He LOVES pillows, well not so much the pillow but reducing them to their component parts, which he can accomplish in approx 3.5 milliseconds.
He also likes to 'skin' tennis balls but I digress.
Risks = Do NOT let anyone else feed him, his allegiance to Adults is very fickle and revolves almost entirely around food.
The property of whoever feeds him becomes sacrosanct and he won't destroy it.
Also, keep him away from small children, he won't hurt the children indeed they are perfectly safe.
But, after a suitable warning of growls and snarls, he'll certainly practice his Pillow Discombobulation Skills on any Adult (Parent or not) who continues to try to approach the Kids (which is piss funny to watch down the local Park).
All the locals love him and Kids are perfectly free to go to an Adult but not the other way around... try it and shit gets real.
Tell you this, I had a D40 Navara before the Patrol. Not a bad ute but, they could bend in half, timing chains break, front diff is a weak point. All these damn lightweight utes have their own problems, if it's not one thing it's another. Same with just about any vehicle.
I reckon the best thing is to buy an older vehicle $20K, something that has had all it's gremlins found out. The spend another $30K bullet proofing it. That's about the only way I can think you'll end up with something good.
Also, the ride in the Patrol was so much more comfortable than the D40, also a much more capable vehicle offroad.
I reckon if you want something reliable, you should get a 1HD Toyota something, those old diesels are bullet proof, but not very powerful.
My thoughts exactly 10G , we've put it off for another year or so but are getting an ADC Duramax conversion in the GU along with a GVM upgrade all up cost will be more than the average ute but it won't exactly be average in capability and with the couple of bugs and a reco on the LBZ I'm confident it will pay back in spades .
Oops that should read couple of bugs fixed and a reco
I'm not a fan of these 4 cylinder utes, they're all way over priced in my eyes.
Angry at myself for never being worthy enough of a forum winter hoodie needed @MudRunnerTD !
They even come with free plumbers crack too these days :-( http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forum...018/05/127.jpg
