Hi all,
My name is Reece and I am in NZ (insert kiwi jokes here).
I have a 2000 GU that got a little hot more than once and blew the bottom tank of the radiator so needless to say the motor overheated and heat locked on me. I have pulled the motor and removed the head and lets just say that if it didn't overheat on me sooner or later it was going to blow up! Cylinder 2 on the head was badly pitted with a small crack from the intake valve and the pitting even make it's way to the block! So now I am up for a full rebuild rather than just a head replacement. All this was from the replacement radiator I brought (brand new 2 years ago) after sending pictures to them they said it was not covered under warranty due to a small bend in the bottom tank. All I can say is stay away fro the radiators that have plastic tanks it will cost you in the long run!
Anyway, that is my dilemma and now I am in the process of getting it rebuild :D:D
Cheers,
Reece
