1) I was covid tested after arriving on site the second day after the alert for the outbreak that closed the QLD border. The company I work for purchased a rapid test machine for the Mt Isa hospital, and I was able to get a rapid test done to confirm I was negative, result in 3 hrs.
2) Strict covid distancing, hygiene control 24hrs/day at the mess, clear traffic paths etc, no cross contamination points etc.
3) before leaving qld I got my Vic entry pass and have to wait a week for the QLD re-entry pass.
4) standing at the gate waiting to get on the bris/melb flight, at least a dozen people running around, flapping arms etc becuse they didn't have the pass, takes about an hour to come thru. So they had to make a decision to fly or not - remember its essential to have one!
5) walking to the gate to Melb, there were long lines of desks and glass barriers and police everywhere, every passenger coming from Vic was screened, no exception.
6) arrive in melb, out thru the door into the arrival lounge, one dopey looking dude standing there, welcoming people, had a DHS shirt on, no one around to check passes, I wasn't challenged, absolute joke. This govt has a lip service press conference mentality - tell the world how good we are controlling and then do bugger all. Man alive, if this is the standard this is going to be here for a very long time. NOT HAPPY
