Hi all,
The fuel injectors on my GU6 (2009) ZD30 CRD make a loud(ish) ticking noise. I took the car for servicing and asked the question, the mechanics' answer was "it's pretty standard on them". Still, it kinda bothers me.
It's more noticeable when engine is hot, when standing next to the engine bay when idling, it's quite obvious. It's also heard from inside the cabin when pushing the throttle.
Should I not worry about it or what else can I do?

Does it sound like your standard diesel " ticka tacka ticka tacka" sound ?
I used to own a 2009 crd patrol. And if you listen closely , for example have your ear close to the top motor , the diesel injector chatter is very very apparent.

leak back test would show signs of an injector not performing. could start there.

Get the mechanic to check/ adjust tappets. What oil are you using? I found in my old 3Ltr Castrol Magnatec Diesel was the best to quieten things down in it. Plus a service every 5thou...
Mine used to do it too, and coming from the Di where you couldn't hear it, it was a little disconcerting at first. I am trying to remember back before I installed the chip, and I think mine was only really noticeable at a certain rev range after you had backed off the throttle a little
The noise has disappeared after installing the Unichip and retune, so I can definitely confirm it is injector noise
