TD42 conversion cruise control

Hi everyone,
I have a 2005 GU with a TD42 that had cruise control in the old car in it. I have noticed the engine has the cruise control module on top of the engine there still but the steering wheel doesn't have the controls. I am not mechanically minded at all and I would like to know what I need to do to be able to hook it all up? Money could be an issue if it costs too much but is it as simple as getting the steering wheel controller and hooking it in (if the wiring is there)?
