Body Lift & Cab Cut Requirements for Queensland

As of mid April 2012 body lifts do not have to have Queensland Transport Approval given first. They can now be Approved by an Approved Person, under the K3 Code.

Must comply to below:-

50mm maximum lift
Body blocks must be same diameter as original
High Tensile bolts must be used
Blocks can be steel, alloy or high density plastic or poly
All gear lever boots must be retained and floor sealed
Brake lines & clutch lines to be routed correctly
Good workmanship to apply
Airbag sensors to remain operative as per manufacture design

Body cuts can now be complied by an Approved Person without seeking prior approval from Queensland Transport. A K3 plus other codes will/could be required such as LK1 and if needed a LO1.

No, is the best answer.

You will find that the rules do not state 2" but 1/3rd of rebound bump stop height. So height will vary depending on vehicle.

So it is just as easy to say 2"

Hi David, Why is it i see older 4x4's around cairns with lift's higher than 2" and police pass them with no interst.
Is it worth the risk & what are the penltes

No idea why that is.

But the risk is yours if you go higher then what is allowed.

And if anything does happen with an illegal lift you may wipe your insurance.
