May I suggest ‘Happy Thread’ 4bye4 mate, awesome news you are fit and well finally :-)
Very good points though and glad you’re built strong enough for that known head farout paperwork debacle trail needed to get there in the end brother!

Minimum passing distance legislation has not been passed in Vic.
It is advisory only.

In states where it has been passed, there is also an exemption to make it legal to cross unbroken lines in order to pass a cyclist.

In the situation in your photos I, like any other reasonable person, would cross the lines where safe to pass the riders. It's not rocket science and takes seconds only.
I'm not reasonable, why should I risk my life, my family's life and some other family's life just 2 please cyclist? If passing cyclists at unbroken double white lines is safe then it must also be safe to pass motor vehicles at the same double unbroken lines....... oh wait that's still illegal. So many double standards just.
Perhaps if you lack the judgement required to do so without placing anyone in danger you don't have the requisite skills to be in possession of a drivers licence.
You don't need to fully change lanes and it is a slow moving short and narrow vehicle you are passing. It takes seconds only, even in a gutless td42 like mine.
The world hasn't imploded in the states where it is legislation.
As I said it's not rocket science.
I understand both point of views but seriously on that road it's dangerous for all and like WA is banning them on a similar road so should we , no problem if it's a wider road but narrow and winding and not knowing what's coming round the next bend I would be reluctant to pass .
Ok maybe if only one and road clearer but when you have multiple bikes means a long time over double lines ,pull a big van and it's not much fun getting stuck behind the buggers.
I don’t think it has anything to do with lacking judgment and being able to pass safely but in this particular instance where MB posted photos it is bloody nearly impossible .
I know this hill and its definetly not designed for overtaking, even a bike.
This is why it was mentioned it would take 20 minutes extra to get up the hill.
It creates frustration in drivers and therefore becomes dangerous as cars try and pass.
Definitely not on in this scenario, and I can tell you now there are million other spots the same.
Get these Lycra wearing pansies somewhere where they won’t inconvenience daily traffic... simple as that

I sometimes feel like putting somthing on the depression thread when things are building up a bit, but usually see what others are going through and realise it aint so bad. Just going through the hoops with the missus at the moment. Can't understand that these medicos don't realise that when they use the phrase "possible CANCER" and then go on about not to worry probably not, the person doesn't really hear the words after the c word. Anyway everything has been positive so far and this will be too.
