Mine have been heavily used in mud, sand and snow. They are still in very good condition, I have the spare tyre mount for them, its a great addition and means you don't have to put muddy traxx back in the wagon when you are finished.
I also have a set of Bushranger X-Trax II, they are OK but pretty crap compared to the MaxTraxx. The only advantage of the X-Trax is they are small so fit inside small cars like Vitara, etc.
If I bought them again I reckon I'd give the cheap eBay MaxTraxx copies a go, at $80 a set they would be worth a try.
I thought people just bought em so they looked pretty on the roof , along with the shovel and highlift , and low profile tyres while driving around town ! Dam those woolies speed bumps :)

So rule 1 Don't lend your traxx
rule 2 easy on the throttle
and 3 fabricate an exterior mount for them.
Easy enough to modify a rear hi'lift jack holder
Any one tried these.

Mine are a few years old but because of my superb driving skills have not had to use them yet but in saying that, I always forget to take them with me anyway :)
