Attachment 75126
This Rail Bridge was built 1920 with a 100 year Design Life. Pier 1 began to subside in 1983 and the ballast has been regulated over and over again for the last 34 years.
The Pier 1 had subsided 75mm. The ARTC came to Mainmark looking for a solution which would present an extension of the design life for another 20 years.
The Subsidence was causing impact force to one end of the pier far beyond the design load and resupport and lift was required.
I designed the final solution and then Project Managed the delivery on site for Deep Resin Injection Underpinning of the pier footing.
Mainmark mobilized 2 Operations Units and working within a single 12 hour Track Occupation was able to deliver a 74mm Lift of the Bridge and Train for the Best possible result.
The Train was parked on top of the pier to present maximum Over burden for the best possible compaction of ground.
