Thanks for the supreme effort John, I will contact PAP on monday and see what they can offer.
How did you go finding a plug?
Crapped out, tried two Patrol Wreckers and they either didnt have a loom or were not prepared to chop one unless I paid for the entire loom, which is understandable. I found the plug a bit loose earlier this week and pushed it home, but the clock is still irratic at best, comes on when it feels like it. I have a replacement but really want it on all the time.
I'm telling ya mate the plug won't be the problem. It will be dry solder joints inside the clock which would be a quick 20min fix.

You sure it's the plug, not the clock playing up. Nearly all gq clocks fade away and need to be soldered internally.
OK, did the solder job, took 15 minutes, then without a suitable plug, I went to jaycar and bought a packet of 4mm push on terminal, connected the acc and power wires together, ran a seperate earth, bogged up the plug cavity with silicone to ensure there is nothing coming apart, and bingo, clock on all the time, nice and bright. thanks guys, easier than I thought.
If you’re still after a plug I removed a loom from my GQ today, you’re welcome to come and snip plugs off in Ferntree Gully
