Looks like it just a dropped down? Can't see any drag marks in the dirt.
That was one of the main reason I got steelies after reading a few unfortunate stories
................on the road
Glad there wasn't too much damage.
Then go check your nuts...take it from me when you are 30 and find a mass on your left nut...I now have a pretend one...please check them...both types!
Some guy from Wolfe Creek offered to help, nobody has heard from them since.
We too hope all is well Kallen & Nissa, check in here when you can hey!
Krisso mate, have also heard of the alloy nightmares so have always ripped em off cars when bought and back to faithful steelies too!
Steelies we've found also when fitted in cold temps do seem to loosen very slightly on the highway back home although that could be the studs and nuts expansion possibly? Either way, the team down here can vouch that our morning departure daily ritual is to check our nuts together:-(
Cheers guys.
Yea happened on blacktop at 80kmh so disc on bitumen for about 30m untill i coukd slow enough to move off.
Shield is cactus and disc is damaged on the outter edge.
Will probably replace it soon as its also tearing pads.
Doesnt feel warped though..
No exhaust jack, all i could do was place some timber under the outter hub and drive it uo obto it and dig in the jack a bit..
Un embarrassing but yes i did have the indicators on it..
But i noticed a while ago the center cap actually fowls the indicators..
So nuts can undo but the caps will hold the indicator straight to the center..
Also on 2 big sweeping corners both wife and i noticed a rummbelling sound..
Thought shit frint wheel beari gs as we had done a few water crossings a day before..
Checked bith fronts and no wobble, hubs cool..
Weird..
50m down the straight real loud rumble and then bang and the back end dropped away..
Looked back to see the tyre over taking us..
So jacked it up, cleaned the alloy out of the 5 remaining studs..
Took one nut off the rear and 2 off each front and limped into darwin.
Replaced all 6 studs and new nuts.
About 30 mins to change.
Have taken off other hub cap but have checked them about 10 times since..
Any little rumble im pulling over..
Going to take a lot to get confidence back..
Luckily no major damage to rear bumper..
But rim is shagged..
Center is shagged.
Holes flogged out
And outter rim is ripped to shreads..

Happy to see no injuries.
I think having the trailer attached to it must have helped a lot with stability and saving from more serious damage to chassis/diff etc.
I wonder how it came loose in the first place.
