Some/many/most Dealers have a dealer warranty they factor in, especially any mainstream outfit.
The one-off dodgy brothers yards are a whole different world
I was pointing out that there is no statutory rules/legislation/acts that require a warranty on vehicles past a certain age, kilometres or type in most/all states.
I came across the whole 'minefield' when I was looking at purchasing a campervan or motorhome about 3 years ago.
Qld, NSW and Vic all had very similar legislation as over here at the time but the eastern states stock was much cheaper.
"IF" the car was pasted for rego during the time it was in the yard or as part of the sale etc , whoever passed it knows whats coming, possibly have their rego inspection licence revoked cope fines and or have vehicle inspectors pay particular attention to any vehicle they look at for a long time to come. That's how the system is supposed to work to increase "everyone's" safety.
