Running a 4.5ltr GU Dual Fuel and seems to go well on gas. Bit thirsty on petrol but i think thats how it is tuned. Not a fast machine by any standards but i didn't buy it to race. LOL
I have a 98 4.5Gu on Dual Fuel which I am quite happy with.
LPG Fuel Consumption
18 Litres per 100K's Touring and 22 Litres per 100 K's towing a Jayco Dove
ULP Fuel Consumpion
16 Litres per 100K's
Keep them tuned and regularly put a Tank of ULP through and you should not have any trouble.
I have a 2009 4.4 and its great just thirsty
I have a 4.8, It's thirsty, though the 4.5 is thirstier. It's not too bad if you can control yourself and stay off the loud pedal, sadly the performance when you do step on it makes this difficult.
I can quite honestly say, that it's the best car I've ever owned and that if you get a 4.8 you won't be disappointed.
Never late in a 4.8 :)
I have a 98 model 4.5 running duel fuel. We have clocked up over 500,000k's with only normal wear and tear issues.
The 4.8 is the better option, as the others have said the 4.5 is the thirstier engine, the 4.8 is a power house!
I had a 4.8 dual cab Patrol six wheeler and it was awesome! (wish we never sold it)
X2 what Bulbous said.
