Mercury hit zero celsius today folks.
It's been quite a struggle to keep my hands warm since I woke up early morning. :D :coffeetime:
I'm talking about Melbourne, of course, the greatest metropolis in the known world. :D ;)

Minus 3 here this morning. Had to thaw out the still solid hose I'd left outside before I could use it at 10am. Sun is shining now.
I planted Flowering Gums, Banksia Marginata, Wooly Tea Tree and some different types of hakea. I also put in a heap of Red Malalueca which I scored for gratis as they were last years stock. All of them are supposed to be frost hardy, so they should be ok.
The ground is still very dry and I have been told that some cockies up north are real worried about that.
Spent last night at Snowy creek near Bright , woke up at 2am and had to go out for a pee , noticed the ice crystals on the inside of the camper .
Outside there was half inch of frost over everything , in the morning all pumps were frozen and a bottle of olive oil in the car had solidified, we got home around 4pm and I grabbed the carton of beer out of the car to chuck a few cans in the fridge and they were still freezing cold .
Turned fridge off overnight on -3 in the morning when I turned it back on about 11am it read -5 .
Coldest camping trip ever for us .
i left a fruit cake outside once and it froze even with all the alcohol in it.
You can't go past a hot water bottle for cold winter camping! Throw it under the blankets half an hour before you jump in and come back to a nice toasty warm bed!

Down to a cool 13 this morning.
Still waiting for winter to arrive.
Move down south here. It's freezing ass zero degrees most nights and mornings these days. :D
depends a lot on what your used to Dom. It's been 1 to 3 deg here each morning for the last week or so and only getting to say 15 during the day, usually at mid morning, then going down again in the afternoon and evening. That might be a good day for canberra and parts of Victoria, but it's killing me here. I don't do cold very well.:(

Lol. :)
I can see your suffering in your eyes. :D
I see only one solution. Either get a physical job or a desk job inside a warm office. :)
Anywhere between, it won't be good for your joints. :D
Where you live it gets scorching hot during the summer, so you get battered both ways. :)
Melbourne summers have been good for past two years. We haven't had any scorching hot days
last year and this year.
I don't know why everyone is moaning, it was a great night last Saturday at dwellingup, ice on the awning and the frying pan was frozen in the morning
We had -5 , -6 then -6.8 in Heyfield in 3 consecutive days , coldest I can remember for a long time 😔
We've also been down in Dwellingup all week, down to 0 most nights, upto 15 during the day...... Not complaining when you get to have a fire every night, got through about 200kg of wood. Waking up amongst the trees, cooking up camp roast....... Kids had hot water bottles with furry covers whick worked well. Very sad that it had to end and back home now. I could quite happily sell up and live like that, but I don't think the missus and kids could quite yet.
My TV every night, best damn channel going i reckon

If we stayed home worrying about being cold and wet, we wouldn't be able to do what we did.
Love your work Clunkster. You'd have to be a pro with Phil's oven by now then.

It's a reasonably hot ass day. Not too bad. Good for outdoor stuff.
Pffft... 23 degrees and 69% humidity here ATM
Might have to pop a jacket on in a few hours, they reckon might drop to 14 degrees next few nites
Would be bloody perfect if the bastard wind backed off a bit
Somebody should start a new thread called, "Bloody hot and humid", just for the pending doom of tomorrow. :)
I did my part in the winter with this thread. So, somebody else with a 'love' for heat should do the honours of opening the new thread. ;)
@Clunk
Hey I thanked you Clunk. I think that's a first LOL
