They do,literally, run around your knees as you are knelt down mate, so close and such lovely little things. They are making a comeback as the grey squirrels get more controlled. The greys carry a pox that the reds are not immune to, another case of introduced wildlife wreaking havoc on our natural inhabitants.
Got a barn owl living on my mates farm, fast asleep.

I grew up with one of those in my bedroom ........... but it was stuffed.
Fracster, how did I go with this shot.
I tried to get a bit artistic.
Can you critic it for me. Be honest please.
Apologies for the delay bud, first off I must say that i`m not that great at landscape photography, o4OFF would be better placed to give better feed back to be honest.
Saying that, the norm for landscape is to have foreground interest and background interest. The low lying island in the background is a bit bland to be honest. So ,maybe, take a few steps back and get more of the branches into the foreground, may be lying down to take the shot would have given a differing perspective? Lose some of the background and get more foreground interest including more of the branches shapes and curves.
Hope that helps a bit.
Rather than screw the other thread up, i`ll post some pics of Europe with details.
This is taken in Bamberg, Germany. A stunning place that was one of the few German cities not to get bombed during WW2. I`ve been to Germany many times, there is very little anomosity, but you always get some idiots.

Stats say that 50% don`t make it through the first winter due to a lack of hunting skills. We are seeing more in the towns now were we have loads of bloody pigeons, hopefully the % will start to increase.
Had a week on the outer Hebrides, small island group off the West of Scotland, they have some stuff up there that we seldom see down here.

Three buzzard chicks in a very crappy nest. Probably two weeks off leaving the nest in an airbourne way:

I went sea fishing out of Hartlepool at the weekend, there was quite a few of these guys following the boat. They are getting into the habit of stealing mackerel off the hooks. I can see a few disasters happening if they continue. I fear they may take the hook on occasion and could end up harming themselves. Anyway, only had my P & S, annoyed about missing the whole reflection, but photography was not my primary concern that day, catching cod was.
Fantastic stuff as always mate.
Haha , thought the same , great shot, bit more reflection would make it better, but then i read the description, its a credit to your skills you got that without your DSLR :049:
Actually...... whilst getting the whole reflection would have made for a great composition, I think that it also would have run the risk of detracting from a great shot of a magnificent looking bird. The ‘double bird’, had the whole reflection been included would have become the focus, rather than just the bird .......if you know what I mean.
From my untrained eye anyway.
Taking the picture on a boat that was rocking about on the north sea was a challenge, that is why I could not get the whole bird in the frame with its reflection. I did manage one but chopped the birds tail off, like a dork.
Anyway, it is all subjective, I would have preferred the reflection, but sometimes things work against you.
Appreciate you guys dropping in and posting your thoughts.
Great photos as usual mate, thanks heaps for sharing them with us................................................ ...so how was the cod fishing
Got six cod to seven pound, fillets probably weighed in at 13 pound weight.
Got home and had a fillet for my tea:

Went to Iceland for a short break, was a bit of a rush, but I practised my long forgotten landscape stuff
We went in winter because we wanted to see Iceland, well, like icey. Boy was it that bloody freezing.
The first three are of Gulfoss, the largest waterfall in Europe, semi frozen. Last is a geyser, forgot its name, but it has lots of letters in it..............:p
