Model: 2002 GUIII Patrol TB48DE (4.8L)
Diagnostics: Consult II via DLC (OBD) plug
Adapter Used: Bluetooth ELM327/OBDII adapter from Jaycar
Program used for diagniostics : NDSII android app. Works well but is pretty basic. You can however scan and clear most error codes.
I will be trying others and will update on progress as I find out more.
Torque Pro at this stage will only connect but will not read PID's. Will have a play around with some more settings and see what happens.
Update:
I connected up to Car Gauge Pro. Works quite well but you can not see Oil pressure or temp as apparently there is no output from the ECU on that. Would have thought so myself , but anyway.
I can get more data out of this than NDSII android app. Both only read the ECU and no other computer on the car though. So you miss out on gearbox temps etc.
I know NDSII for windows will read all available computers but the Android app will not
I have heard that Torque Pro will be supporting Consult II in the next update
The issue has been Torque Pro has been based on a 4 Byte protocol and didnt support the 5 Byte protocol which was needed for Consult II
So this is good news as it seems to be the only one receiving regular updates and support.
Car gauge pros last update was early last year and I have found no word on any kind of update
Can anyone tell me what diagnostics my '06 TD42i has? There is a plug under the dash which Bob connected his laptop to. Gave very limited info - RPM is all I remember. I'm interested in the system which gives flashing light codes for problems - how it's accessed, & what it can tell you. I vaguely recall there being x number of flashes means xyz??? Can anyone tell me more?

Cuppa. Our 4.2s have the consult plug.
I've had the ecu cable plugged in with the ecu talk program.
It reads your usual stats like rpm , coolant temperature temperature , airflow , injector timing etc ...
However I don't think this can read any stored codes ???
Someone correct me on this.
Have a read of this.

Do you mean checking fault codes manually by bridging OBDII plug?

RB30 Carby, diagnostics done by it's owner haha. Compression, fuel, spark, work from there.
