I’ve gottemu as well, cheap and fairly quick
Hi guys, i wont be on this trip due to work commitments but I think you are all crazy planning to do it when the big bash is on, you will all be constantly held up by people who have no idea how todrive offroad. I have done 4 Simpson trips and 2 were during school holidays and we will not even do that again. Last trip was July last year and tnetracks were so easy we decided to take a side excersion, drove over virgin sandhills for 2 days, managed only 70km and lots of fun. This may have been mentioned before but getting oziexplorer topo maps is really helpfull, shows all tracks including overgrown seldom used tracks. In Coober Pedy the best accommodation ihave used is Desert View Underground Appartments. While in Coober Pedy you have to try the Coat of Arms pizza from Johns Pizza, was there 2 weeks ago and they are still the best pizzas ever. Happy to chat or take calls from anyone after advise.
Yes the big red bash was taken into consideration as it’s the weekend prior so hopefully we will be clear of too much traffic coming towards us as most now drag a van to that and won’t be crossing the simpson, the few that don’t we will be 9 days after so hopefully little to zero oncoming from that.
Got the alloy floor in today, just need to seal the joins around the outside of the floor and will then install the carpet and put split rubber edging to make sure to carpet on the edges doesn’t lift, then it will be putting nutserts in and bolting the fridge cover and drawer frame into place and sliding the fridge and drawers in.Attachment 87842Attachment 87843
4 months and we will be arriving in Birdsville

I’m taking my puncture repair kit , a set of hoses and serpentine belt, filters, oil and 20ltr extra diesel and if I can fit it in the airbag jack, I’ve got 2 canvas bags with assorted tools as well, I think chock is bringing ranger cv’s as he is known for wrecking them , I’ve also got insulation tape and repair tape and 2 spares, will also have 4 ltrs of coolant, possibly good if 2 or 3 more others carry some as well just in case. Hopefully nothing is needed
Possibly the td boys should look at carry spares between them as well.
