Yep, wouldn't touch air suspension on them.
The 3.5 seemed a more reliable motor than the 3.9, and was a common conversion into Triumph Stags to replace the unreliable 3.0 V8 they had... Useless little fact there.
And the diesels were slllloooowwwww. Interestingly I had a look at rangies for sale for a few months and I found only 1 diesel that hadn't blown up.
4 speed gearboxes are known to be stronger than the 5 speeds, but I believe on 5 speed models the stronger and better geared LT230 transfer from a Disco 1 is an almost bolt in replacement. Another relatively useless fact there...
