Has anyone installed the winch cradle from http://www.nissangupatrol.com/produc...alloy-bullbar/ ?
I was wondering how you accessed the winch clutch lever as it seems to be inaccessible in this set up.

Can you turn the gearbox 90 degrees for ease of access
I had that on my first GU. Had to mount it upside down. Access from under the bullbar.

Good point about rotating the gearbox threedogs.
Katwoman is that what you mean by mounting it upside down or did you actually mount the cradle upside down?
You will need to move the gear lever side cover plate on the winch--simply remove studs and turn 180 degrees. Then per katwoman, turn the winch over. That is because cable exits wrong location if you mount it "right way up" Warn advises you need to make a new drain slot, as it is now on top. Works on mine.
I have skills, but not mechanical ones.
I understand rotating the clutch to access from below.
However if I turn the winch upside down wouldn't that put the clutch lever back where it was before I rotated it? So I really wouldn't need to rotate it at all.
How do you mount the winch upside down? Aren't there mounting points that you bolt to the cradle? If I turned it upside down I would have to bolt it to the bottom of the cradle. I need to go stand next to a winch and check it out.
Take a deep breath before you reply please :)
This thread of mine might help in regards to mounting and also rotating the clutch lever.

That makes it clear. Rotate it left to right rather than top to bottom.
I just needed some pics. Thanks again.
