Got $1500 to spend on a lift kit for my 99 GU patrol TB45/5 speed. What should I do?
It is a daily driver, but im not afraid to give it a hiding in the Brindies on weekends too. Its currently riding on a 2" Tough Dog setup with what I can only assume are coil spacers. The current shocks are shagged, but so is pretty much every other bush in the car (hence my $1500 budget cos the rest of my funds are going to fix those). Cheers, Col.
OME, TJM or even Dobinso 2" coils and springs and left overs for as many rubbers as you can with the change. Tell them what your going to have in the car weight wise so yiou get springs appropriate for your needs

Do it yourself and go OME its what I've just done
I just went a three inch dobinson coils and armada shocks from superior and so far am very happy, installed myself ( never done before). Great customer service and not bad on price. Got the wagon bolt on coil tower brace aswell and a few other goodies. Have a look at their website.

Make sure that you use the genuine rubber Nissan OEM bushes too, as they last longer, and flex better than the poly bushes

Have to agree, DIY frees up a couple of hundred for extras like bushes, hire/buy spring compressor. Just replaced stock suspension with 2'' kit from Opposite Lock (Dobinsons stuff), shockies, springs and steering damper - parts only around $1200, fitting quote was around $330
I run EFS 2" and find it a great ride good flex too
