Update to the fuel and starting problem.
Thanks MudRunnerTD, your suggestions helped us to nail down the fault. Initial diagnosis indicated a fuel pump fault and that the pump would need replacing...

So what's the rationale behind the continued pumping of the primer after the engine has started? Is it to get rid of any ore possible air bubbles in the lines?
