If it's a factory radio , it will be grounded through the factory aerial.
Youl have to ground the unit at the back. Can't remember which wire it was at the plug.
Had to do the same on my 2005 ,...

I know the power antenna is activated by the head unit powering on, maybe there is a link to it? But I think my antenna is disconnected also, but still mounted and my stereo is working. So i dunno..

G'day mate. Again, so sorry for not returning earlier. Been a heck of a week and will finally get to see the car later this arvo, but sounds like you got it nailed .
Few things I'll mention. You...
Depending on your final usage needs DP Mate it might be well worth considering making bracket allowances for a decent sized ‘pull’ (reversed polarity) standard thermatic fan underneath before final...
Morning mate. Huge apologies for not getting back when I thought I would. Call out work throwing curve balls at me. I haven't been able to see the car.
That photo you have or the whole setup on...
Looks like a good guess to me. If the original boost hose for the pump compensator is no longer there then you can take it from the manifold with that plate & barb.
Hi mate. It's been 5+ years since I fitted mine. I honestly can't remember nitty gritty details, but I do remember gutting a shitload of vac and/or boost lines.
When I received my kit, they sent me...
It’s probably no help again MelbAI Mate but the Kerrigan family somewhere over near Tullamarine-Melbourne appeared to go alright with Dennis Denuto against some sort of Powerhouse endless fighting...

But i have a UFI 18g td5 coming my way soon.
Good outcome mate. When I got my CC intercooler I got one of these kits mate. While you have that area pulled-apart..

Completely nuffy forgot about ‘Baxters’ [emoji106][emoji106]
They are our yard mechanics go to for truck alternators, honestly never knew they also stocked our smaller needed...
Rowan Bebbington in Chiltern Vic is a winding genius. This guy saved my arse for free one Sunday a few years ago when my roadbike blew a regulator/rectifier 350km from home. Sheer luck that our...
The art of armature winders are diminishing exponentially I'm afraid.

Used to be a tiny place just off Elizabeth St, Mebourne which re-wound alternators - no idea if they are still there.
Have seen a place in Ballarat which I think does similar.
dpetersen Could try calling this mob in Alice to see what they say? https://kcautoelectrics.com.au/services There are several other Auto Sparkies in town too, but if you are still out at Wartarrka...
My only honest concern these days Cuppa Mate is trying to find a decent “Old School” repairer armature sparky, almost non existent now?
Bearings are a concern too for a further 300,000km, not sure...
Maybe take the alternator to an old fashioned auto sparky. It may not need much to sort it for another 300K.
It may have been circa $550 but almost positive it was under $600 for the Hitachi OEM 80amp-ish which still more than suits our tourers old 80L Waeco & 26L Engel freezer so far. If we can get another...
Our older 2001 TD42T one also died at approximately 350,000km too mate, replaced it with an OEM for around $500ish I thought? Are the 2006 TD42Ti really $2,300, I thought they’d be the same...
Assuming the throttle actuator servo is capable of 100% pull (as jff45 mentioned) then you will need to check for play/excess slack in the servo linkage.
A proportion of Cruise Control setups out...
