There's a fair bit of diff oil in there and if it's not leaking enough to drip then I doubt you'd notice a change in the level. It's fairly common for the axle seal to wear so I'd suggest that...

Why don't you go to Nissan parts and quote VIN of your Patrol than get them to give you replacement Nissan OEM part number. Aftermarket supplier should be able to than match the correct kit.

I just disconnected the resistor on my old GU4.
The light worked normally and no other problems.
Nissans recommended fix is to replace both senders and resistor.
