Nah mate, the Patrol's simply have a transfer pump that puts the fuel into the main.

Couple of things to know...
If there is fuel in teh sub the system does a short self test each time you start...

I might be wrong but i think the 98 GU has the RD28 ETI engine, my GU also has RD28 on the plate, i think the RD28 was a mechanical pump motor in the GQ
