A mate did the LS1(5.7?) and auto in his gq shorty.
He bought a v8 auto wagon wreck and stripped it.
He used the existing engine, auto, wiring lume & computer, wiring it in series though his gq...

LS1 conversion would be a better option. If not a viable one for you then maybe stroke the 304 out to a 355 or 383. Marks adaptors will do an apaptor for the transfer to auto.

Well done Rossco. I have seen this engine in action and it runs like a dream!
