It's possibly a TCV connection or connection to #1 injector.
Check connections and hit them all with some Crc of similar . Try that first.

Hello Danny and welcome! A shame about the car! Perhaps a diesel conversion instead of binning it altogether?
Some of the members a lot more experienced than I may be able to offer advice in this...
Cheap one here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-Patrol-GU-III-4-2-Turbo-Diesel-/182006547216?hash=item2a606f8310:g:YvQAAOSwFqJWnePv
Pm macca86 I recall him selling his though it may be a bit out of your budget. And he's around the corner from us
Found his thread looks like its Nfs anymore ...
There's a few good TD42's knocking around on gumtree atm mate. Best to look at a non turbo as it's likely to be better for reliability. Been happy with mine, just a little slow around town haha.
No I didnt , bolt a piece of 40mm x 6 mm across the OE rails and mark where the Strato bolt holes are.
From memory they are 350mm apart but check to be sure, very easy to re fit to OE rails IMHO
worth checking but keep in mind the ecu talk and dash gauge read of seperate senders, the gauge sender is a single wire sender, and the ecu talk reads the temp sensor which has a bigger plug/multiple...
I think you should check your temp sender is working properly. Pull it out and stick it in a pot of water and use a thermometer to measure the water then compare with the ecu talk reading. Do this...
Depending on whether you wanna use original Nissan parts or aftermarkets, it shouldn't cost anywhere near 5k, if you can do the above list of jobs yourself. The overheating problem is apparently a...
Fair enough...
So you know the engine passes compression checks etc. which is good news but a litre of coolant maybe dodgy over only 1000 K's.
Might be air in the system or somesuch
Obviously...
Most here would agree that you only use an OE thermostat from Mr Nissan.
I just poured this into my radiator to fix a head problem, not ideal but gives me time
to sort out what I want to do with...
That's right folks, we finally have Issue 2 of the famous NissanPatrol.com.au magazine hot off the press below!
I cannot believe It's been two months since Issue 1, how time flies!
I would like...
Try to avoid steel on steel when you mount it, cut some rubber so it absorbs a few vibrations
and it also allows a little give. Daily checks would be manitory in my books.
Depending on the style rack you buy, you could make like a lazy suzzane.
Using a stub axle as the pivot. I've used this on my tyre hoist and thought it would help your
Kyak holder. Very simple and...
Been slack as mate and too sore.
But you've given me a reminder to get off my butt.
Need some heavier "U" bolts and thats about it.
I'll go to the bolt place tomorrow and see what they have....
have to be careful the kyak doesnt rob through the tent when travelling
maybe some sort of rubber matting that is glued single sided
Whats the combined weight of the RTT and Kyak,
just by themselves?
What style roof rack or bars are you using?
Standard 82 degrees should work fine. Why don't you pull it out and test it in hot water. If it tests fine, you can cross that off the list.
It sounds like thermostat opening too late or not enough. TB45 should have an 82 degree thermostat.
It's not difficult to test a thermostat. Even new could have a defect. Was it a genuine Nissan?
...
Excellent, thanks for the heads up Danny. I just bought a pair of Maxtrax for $202.36.
I have been waiting patiently for an opportunity like this for quite some time. Previously the cheapest I’ve...
Not overly concerned ATS ,can you skim it off some how?
Foam sounds like its cavitating, maybe time to try those "Y" pieces.
Dont forget the hose on the exit of the converter, air will get trapped there.
In good conditions it should never freeze.
