Crack the radiator cap so it can't build any pressure on the rest of the drive.
Bugger mate, sorry dude, that would be shit. Have you got plenty of water? Where are you? If I was close I'd come get you mate but I'm in Geelong mate.
Good luck bud, hope you don't have far to go. I assume your not in the RACV?
where are you?
I'd try just removing the thermostat just to get home. Hopefully this might help.
Pressure is due to cap not working or leak from a cylinder pressurising the system.
Take the cap off and check for air bubbling out of the radiator. If not too bad you could possible drive it.
if you think that's the problem just take it out and get yourself home
keeping an eye on temps you should be ok
thermostat jammed shut hope someone is close by to help you out
Good to see there is some light at the end of that damn tunnel, strength to you buddy stay strong
glad to hear your getting on top of life mate

Tbh it's cheaper to get it properly fixed before it destroyes itself.
Could just put a wrecker box in in the mean time until funds allow but then you are running the risk that it's in sh!tty...
I had it done at a shop as it actually broke down. Reason being all the bits of torque converter blocked the cooler and melted everything.
Had I gotten it rebuilt before melting everything, would...
When you checked the fluid, did you check it off the dip stick or off the drain plug?
If i can remember correctly my auto had a similar sound, metally rattley kind of sound, and it was the Torque...
No mate, TC = torque converter..
I think Dave has had Coolant contamination through the Auto box, due to a corroded radiator.....
Have you thought about trying to get a good box from the wreckers if you are going to do it...

It may even have cracked flexplate.

You don't mention slippage or other typical auto issues so if it's only chattering noise maybe check to see if the TC hasn't come loose..
you'll find there's a good chance the green fluid is the correct type of ATF for the transfer case.
check listing for your model.
I was using this in all my cars as the suggested optional upgrade...
Tell us about it... its funny how with things like this you realise how different her mind works and how she sees things.
At 11 she already teaches me things with this technology..
