I've got the ko2s,very happy with them.
Had them for 1.5 years,can barely notice any ware on them yet.
Good in the wet and decent off road too

I think in early series 1's up to end of 91 only the St and ti's were colour coded and after then I think only dx were grey

Looks like part of oil cap to me,i had a bit break off too,looks just like that.
Sounds like it has to be a vacuum leak somewhere.
So they're good for 1st 2 or 3 pumps ???
Leak in vacuum tank maybe?
You could disconnect at alternator or vacuum pump(depending on model),seal it...
Handbrake adjustment is on the back of your gearbox as thats the handbrake.
The other pic you have is the brake bias valve....don't fiddle with it
