  1. Hi Sprogg,

Im running 31x10.5 R15's as well and I get fair fuel economy. Our last rip to Batemans bay with a loaded trailer and family for a weeks camping was 11.9 Lt/100Km. I thought that was fair in those conditions. I didnt do any 4WDing that week either (Most places were closed due to flooding)

If you go a larger dia tyre you might have trouble with acceleration and power as the RD28T has to work harder at getting the larger tyres going. I have spoken to quite a few people and they say stick with the 31's which Im happy to do as we only go touring and not into any extreme stuff. Having said that, the GQ is quite a formidably truck and goes into some fairly haory places that other 4WDs dont.

As for tyre choice, my next set will be Maxis AT's but for our trip to the cape in a few years I will get a set of Maxis Bighorns.

    Cheers,

    Rob
  2. Hi mate. I've got a 2.8l patrol as well. I'm not happy with the wheels .They are 31x10.5 r15 s. I would like to put r16 wheels and tyres on to improve economy, clearance and speedo accoracy. The tyre compliance tag says I should be running 235x85 r16 What is your experience ?
