Hey mate saw your post about the power winch for your boat, ive fitted alot of these and your best bet is to go straight from your battery + and earth it to chasis, you can use a circuit breaker if needed as well, your local auto elec or battery world should sell duel core 6mm insulated wire and just mount a small anderson plug to the back of you car and one on the winch power cable, its quit easy if you have a small gas torch, hope this helps.
