Another newby.

Hi to all. Newby to the forum's, but not to the Patrol's. I am on my 4th new Patrol. 2 GQ's and 2 GU's. It would be fairly safe to say I love them. The time has come for me to start drilling holes (previously reluctant) and mod this one (personlise it) so as to get it ready for touring the outback.

Thankyou to all for your kind welcome. I have always been reluctant to make changes/mods to my patrols as I usually replace them after 5 years with aprox 200k on the clock, so resale was always important. Not this time. Instead of spending $60k on a new one I plan to spend around $10k on this one (2004 GU 3.0l) and have some fun with it hopefuly for the next 4-5 years. I had my very first mechanical failure in 20 years (true) of driving patrols last month. Dual mass fly wheel crapped itself. I had a solid flywheel fitted (clutch kit etc) as I did not want the same thing happening again in the outback. So far I have fitted dual battery system with anderson plug at rear for camper trailer, Icom 400 pro uhf 4.5/9db antennas , Chinse GPS/DVD/rev cam/ipod/tv/bluetooth, Oziexplorer hema mps, iphone car kit with 7db ext antenna, bull bar, ipf 800's, merit/cigar outlets in the rear for ARB fridge etc. Will be going in shortly for 2in lift kit and rear air bags. Can't wait!
