A big week for me, Wednesday night Im over at Cheaters house dragging a truck off his driveway and getting a bracket welded to the 4x4 so I can put the yak on the roof rack, everything works, sweet  packed and ready to leave Thursday arvo for Lang Lang caravan park

The campsite at Lang Lang, gary's yak on the left, mine on the right and the Lang Lang "Hilton" in between.

I'd stopped at the supermarket to pick up some goodies so while the burgers where BBQing I snuck a quick sunset shot in, the view is looking towards French Island and the tide is low so the mudflats are out.

That night after the burgers Gary and I moved over to the caravan parks bluestone community center which already had a blazing open fire going, time to have a few ales and plan the next days fishing.

I lost a gummy in the first hour of fishing and with water being totally glassed off we paddeled over to French Island, I pulled up on the beach to stretch my legs and grab a quick few photos.

Elephant sharks where pulling hard and overall I caught 6 plus a 4 gummies and a nice 40cm pinky

Gary and I pulled back up on the beach around 3pm and after cleaning the fish we said our goodbyes and I went for a much wanted shower and then packed up camp, only to have to unpack the whole bloody car after loosing the keys  found them an hour later hanging on the hook in the shower door  fish was packed in snap lock bags and then into the waeco fridge to keep fresh for the trip to Inverloch.

On the way there was some nice scenery so I stopped for a few photos, wonder if this old place is for sale

About 5.30 pm ish I found myself in front of the Kilcunda pub and stopped at a lookout to cook some dinner, hows this for scenery while having a meal and a hot cuppa.

Dinner at Kilcunda was a fresh Gummy shark sandwhich and a hot cuppa tea, sanga was melt in your mouth good with gummy caught that day and eaten the same day, nuthing but fresh bread, butter, fried gummy and salt and pepper, all cooked on my tip shop $20.00 three burner stove, it works well and didnt blow out in the stiff sea breeze coming up the cliffs.

Got to Inverloch and met up with Kel (momunny) and his wife Shaz and neice Danielle at around 8pm after a leisurly drive with many photo stops, its been quite a few years since I was last in Inverloch and it certainly has grown. after a few ales I went to bed reasonably early. Kel and I got up at the next morning, Kel cooked a fantastic breakfast of bacon and eggs on toast which kept us going all day out on the water, especially as neither of us thought to pack lunch .

after paddling across to a well named place in Inverloch called the snags, kel decided to make some considerable donations of fishing tackle to the many submerged tree trunks and branches.

if you look between the yaks in the photo above you'll notice a tea tree about 3 metres long :wtf: and bloody heavy  , I know because Kel managed to wind his anchor chain around it in about 2.5 metres of water, he then went and joined me on the shore after being unable to break the anchor free and tried to pull the anchor away only to have the rope snap and land flat on his ass in 1/2 a metre of water, I proceeded to piss myself laughing    , as you would .

Looking out on the water I could see the float was still attached to the anchor line so we both paddled out to see if we could free it, I heaved and pulled on the rope and felt something move, the whole bloody tree was coming up and by jebuz it was heavy, finally managed to get Kel's anchor chain in my hand and with my yak listing badly to starboard like a greek cruize ship Kel took my anchor line to shore and pulled my yak and the submerged tree in to shore.
How he managed to get his anchor wrapped up like this I'll never know, good thing is, we got it back :bananaman:

Both Kel and I caught 3 whiting each all around 35cm, plus numerous small flathead and salmon.

Id promised Kel and family a feed of fresh gummy nuggets and whilst Kels wife Shaz went to town to get some hot chips I started cooking and had a ale whilst doing so, all of us voted it as a bloody good feed.

Leaving is always hard and after thanking Kel and his family for their hospitality I headed off through Inverloch and took the long way to Wonthagi via the winding coast road with its magnificent scenery.

All in all a great trip, many thanks to Gary (novyak) for joining me at LL and also many, many thanks to Kel and his cheeky wife Either for their hospitality, had an awesome long weekend and got home late sunday completely stuffed, a few scotch and cokes and I fell asleep on the couch.

Cheers Ghurkin. 8-)
