Engine flat spots

Hi all,

I have a GUIII and we are having some issues with what I can best describe as flat spotting.

Mainly in the first three gears the engine will flat spot at about 2,500rpm. Our regular mechanic, who I think is fairly knowledgable, has replaced two sensors to do with the turbo but to no avail. He has also hooked the car up to a diagnostic computer and shows no faults with the turbo.

We have bitten the bullet and have the car booked in at the local Nissan dealership, however was hoping to pick all your collective brains as to what the problem maybe.

Now please forgive my lack of mechanical knowledge as cars and mechanics is just one thing I can not get my head around.

Hi Stewie.
Is your Gu a 3lt, and if so do you have N,A,D,S fitted?
My series 2 also had some annoying flat spots until I blocked my EGR and backed off my vnt grub screw 1/2 a turn then the flat spot's were gone.
Give this a try stewie then if I was you I would Google NADS and do the mods ASAP, I did, and my GU not only goes much better but it's great peace of mind.
