Anyone ever tried this on a patrol?

I would love to know what size tyre would be needed to get enough momentum to turn over a TD42.

No more flat battery worries as long as you had a jack and a length of rope.

Enjoy.

Never actually seen that before, good trick...lol

I fixed your embed issue. Sometimes Youtube gives weird links that you can't embed and you need to actually copy the link for the URL in your browser rather then the embed URL they give you on screen.

Youtube uses 2 forms of links, a long link or a short link, short link is displayed as default I believe, you need to use the long link, for some reason Vbulletin does not like short links.

looking at the size and age of the truck,,,, and the tyres looks like an old size 10.00R fitted to a split rim now using the same tyre size ratio to engine size in the truck you should be able to do that to a td4.2 with standard tyres,,,,, how ever that diff was open ours are LSD which means you would need to jacks in the bush and someone on the other side spinning both wheels at the same time.,,,,,, I THINK!!!!!!!

looks like the replacement starter motor has seen plenty of use, too - nicely frayed at the end.

aahahh I use to push my old MK down the road when starter played up and jump start. Was a lot stronger back then

I wish I had seen the vid before

hahahah that is funny as hell! Hell Yeah that would work on the TD42. The GQ is a little easier to push though so jacking it up and having a go is probably not really necessary unlike the 40 tonner they did that too. hahaha only in the Developing World would you see that stuff. Thats great.

Both that truck and car are probably lacking a fair bit of the ol compression haha.

I saw this done once on an Israeli M-325 Commandcar. It was hard work before it started eventually! Might try it on my Safari one day.
