Did a quick run around some of the Central Wheat Belt on the weekend. Miles and miles of wheat paddocks mixed with scrub reserve which a lot of people may find boring but the missus and I love exploring the rocky outcrops and the hidden water supplies, gnamma holes, formations and wildlife.

We saw Mallee Fowl, Roo's, Wallabies, Emu, Wedtail Eagles, Hawks and Kestrels, Dugites (cranky buggers so kept our distance there), thousands of Galahs, Port Lincolns and Corellas and more.

Couple of pics to give you and idea but very hard to grasp the scope of the open country from piccies.

It is!

Around that area was my old stomping ground for 10 years. The wheatbelt is either brown or green, with the odd tinge of yellow (canola) or white (lupins).

And yes you city slickers, canola oil is grown in a paddock and is processed to the bottled stage.

Just like milk and eggs, they don't start in a carton and finish in the recycle bin. lol

So when we going?

I find out this week if I'm being transferred, so I'll let you know shortly.

In the mean time, put your truck into H4, climb Greenmount Hill, and keep heading east, and keep going, and going, and going. lol

Apart from a 2" lift, my undercarriage is stock. Just ask ANY Western Patrol Club Member. lol Every trip I've been on, somebody recovers me.

'DX grunt' is tatooed on Dogman's snatch strap. Isn't it Wayno PML

LOLOL, used to be like that on my BT50 before I got the troll. Not into rock hopping, enough to work the rig and have a bit of fun and I am happy :)

Awesome. Planning on one of those runs myself in the near future. The goldfields loop looks like a winner.
