2" body lift, what needs to be done?

Hi guys,

Looking at a 2" body lift to accompany my 3" spring lift. I know the spacers need to be 75mm in width, thats it lol

What also needs to be adjusted..? Clutch line, brake lines, gear leavers, steering, radiator......I'm just not sure.

I have a Nissan safari GQ 1992 running a TD42 N/A

you will need to look at your break lines etc and your radiator, your transfer lever will be short and you may need to modify the plate that gear stick boots attach to.

Personally I would bother with a body lift, your centre of gravity increases and chassis is still at the same height

Thanks mate, mainly I'm just after a bit more clearance for the 35" tyres. The engineering crowd at work can do it all up so thought why not.... but am trying to still weigh it all up.

Hi Mate, Concider the Body mounts, I've seen a few body lifts actually crack them. They can be more trouble than there worth. But then again, I'm sure theres people that have had them for years with no problems. Good Luck

Thats the thing mate, I'm building it at the moment and I need to decide now if I will go ahead with the body lift. I'm not doing it rough and ready so I'm confident we shouldn't have too many issues but as always I like to hear from peoples experience first.

personaly i wuld not do a body lift have a look at me pic my GU has 4in lift with 33in tyers got heaps of room still for 35in tyers or even 37in

Well I'd like to say thank you for helping me make my decision. After taking your advice on board and from my mechanic (A 4wder who mod trucks for a living) I'm not going to follow down the path of a body lift. Seems to be more farting around that I once thought and the only reason I was going to get one, was because it was going to be free.

My truck has 3" suspension and 2" body lift. It has not made for any less stability as realistically the weight of the body is not that much. Yes it has lifted the centre of gravity marginally (Maybe half an inch to an inch) but all the serious weight has stayed down with the chassis. It does make it significantly simpler for the sliders though as these can come straight out from the chassis rails withouit having to sit under or dive down.
