so my turbo bearing are about to fail and need a new one. I see places are want 1400 Just for the turbo and 900 Labour. Seems too high. I did some ebay work and found one for 750 delivered with 2 year warrenty. Plus 150 for gasket kit. Does this seem right? I-ll be doing the nads too does anyone sell a package of catch can egr plate dawes and needle value. While all that is happening may as well clean inlet and put on an are intercooler and scoop. Photo's will come after. Holding off the pyro as i-ll do that with my 3inch pipes that i have back in brisbane and my safari d tronic power chip

Is that a genuine garrett turbo? I've read somewhere on here that the non-genuines are no good-slow spool up etc...
I have seen genuine ones listed by a Nissan dealer though so if that is the case I'd say go for it.
Mine is the same as yours, I'm thinking of getting a reco turbo fitted and dyno tuned at the same time. Just trying to find some ZD30 guru's in Melbourne.

I have 166k on my 3.0l and touch wood it don't blow yet. i find a lot of times turbo failure can be put down to the lack of idle time before shut off. some people probably don't even know it's required

I have one on order with the new turbo as I know about the oil crystalisation that can occur if not cooled down properly

May be you should think about buying a new cartridge 500$+/- + gasket kit 150$?
Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbo-Cartridge-CHRA-Garret-TA4532-Komatsu-PC300-S6D125-/220824059258?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336a23bd7a
(this is not from Patrol but the same principle)
Its new and already balanced.
