Hi Folks,
When I start my TB42 (carb) when the motor is cold, all is fine...
BUT when the motor is warm, it takes more time and finally there is
a hard fuely smell.
I checked the sparks and they look a little (to) brownish...
Any hints?

:)

Hi Smile
I Would be checking the choke as it may be partially stuck. Check the electrical connection at the choke and also at the block were it joins the main loom. This is the block which is mounted on the LH front corner of the carby.

The choke was def. pushed to the block. But I will check for any probs...
What electrics are related to the choke?

Sorry mate should have asked if it was a manual or auto choke. If auto when you turn the ignition on there is a bi metal spring which heats up and slowly opens the choke. This spring is inside a round black housing which is attached to the choke butterfly shaft. There is also an earth strip on the housing and if not clean or earthed properly will also cause problems.

Oh, I see. No, it is a manual choke. Can this one cause problems too? There is only little chance to simply bring the car to a workshop - that's Africa ;-). You always have to tell them, WHAT to fix :-(

If the choke is right off then check for a leaking needle and seat as when the car is turned of it may dribble excess fuel down the manifold
