I have asked around a few shops and different places and nobody could tell me how to hook up a switch that would enable me to turn interior light on from the back of car then be able to turn it off from the front of the car like in a hallway.
Most people just asked WHY..well im lazy and forgetfull.

So I have this hooked up and seems to be running fine. Can anyone see a problem with how I done it.
Switches are 20Amp going to led lights.

Hi Rodney, I didn't even know Hella made one.

Not exactly commonplace in the automotive world are they.

They are used in Industrial applications abit tho. You will be able to get single throw "On-On" from most large Instrument or Electronic suppliers like RS Farnell etc and maybe Jaycar

Hi Trolatron... Ooops... posts crossed in cyber space...

That will do the job as you have said. It is a double pole when a single would do but, meah, doesn't matter.

Most of those switches are double throw (centre off) in the auto shops

Hi Evil one,

No they aren't real common in automotive use, but they did become quite popular in the late 80s with the invention of the musical air horns.

They enabled you to switch back to your standard horn when pulled over.

I didn't even think about Jaycar, it's amazing the range they carry.

Cheers Rodney

Thanks, With the double pole they look very similar to the old style switches used in Mack trucks.

Well I now have gone a step further and made it so I can turn either 1 or 2 of my rear lights on as when camping near other 2 lghts would be just too much.Switches 2 and 3 turn lights off and on
while switch 1 simply decides 1 or 2 or no lights to come on.

This is what all that above really looks like.Only the first 2 switches though the 3rd is for interior light.
The last switch in the diagram is on the rear small door.
