hi all
i have a great 99 mod 4.2 td cab chassis that i have done all my serviceing on every 5k since new, i have done some basic work around the factory turbo set up and added a 3inch exhaust top help it breath a little better and it has worked well. I am looking a buying a 2tonne boat and was looking at some more hp where do i start? i understand there is a lot more in these motors, i have heard about dropping a cummings or chev v8 in, if i needed a new motor thats fine but i dont my motor is a 1one,any thoughts i live in newcastle nsw.

G/day Mick & welcome to the forum.

When you get a chance mate drop in to our intro section & tell us a bit about yourself & your Rig. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/forumdisplay.php?2-Introductions

First off a 2 tone boats not going to bother a TD42t to much I wouldn't think.

There are some things you can do yourself but for the money I'd be getting it Dyno tuned by a reputable mob in your aria (where is that BTW) & explaining to the tuner that you'd like it tweaked up a bit for some more power. This way you know its done right the first time.
