Am I realy that hard to understand ?????

I got a led light strip off a guy in Melbourn from his ebay site ( a 4x4 site) now I wired it up to see how bright it is.and noticed that in each individual yellow square led there are 3 tiny lights that make the yellow square light up but in most of them only 1 or 2 of those tiny light are working.

Here are some pics.

The top strip is one i have had for 2 years
The bottom strip is the new ebay one

This pic is taken threw a welding lens and shows 3 tiny lights in each yellow led square but the one on the right ( ebay) has only 2 in some squares.

and only 1 in each further down the strip.

I tried explaining that to the guy and he just dont understand. He thinks they are air bubbles or something.
Am I making any sence ????

Oh by the way these lights are fantastic if you get the 5050 size leds.

Your photos are perfect to explain what the problem is...Hopefully he understands.

Problem being there are too many people in Australia importing products and not actually trying them out and testing the products in general prior to selling them.

I can see what you saying, but I had a few 2 many bourbons, ask 4 your money back.

What are using the led strip 4? might be better of speaking 2 fletcha on here and spending some extra $ for a better led strip

Please PM me the details of the company he got them from. It will add to the mystique of the mirror tiles on my roof! That's enough info for today. PML.

Thanks.

Never argue with idiots, they drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience :-)

It all started when I won a 300mm led strip in our club raffle and then I tracked down the guy who donated it and got 3 more off him they were $20 each then I got that dodgy one 500mm for $17 but since then I got a whopping 5metres for $45 ( Ebay/Sydney ) and these ones are brilliant.Just ticked me off that this dood cant see whats wrong with the one I posted about.

This is where I put the first ones i got.

When I make the cargo barrier I will put one on that which will light up the whole cab.

I have just bought a heap out of Hong Kong to do some stuff on my camper. I steered away from the 50/50 because i could not figure the 3 wires in a 12v circuit?? WTF? Can you shed any light on it for me?

Too be honest the 3 series push way plenty light anyway and i did not see the need to go to the 50/50.

The strips I use have only 2 wires positive and negative.I havent heard of the 3 series befor so I cant comment on those ones but would like to see some do you have a link or a pic of them.

These are the last ones i got.

The new strip you have Trolatron looks as though its the multicoloured one as where the cut line is there is 4 solder tabs.. Power, red, blue and green (you earth the colour you want and if you join the 3 colours together you get white).. By looking at the photo's, mainly the third one.. Where the LED dropps off is directly after the cut line where the join is.. Maybe has a broken solder join there which is why the strip is playing up??

Thats a sweet bit of gear there Fletcha. I went out and put the earth on the other tabs but nothing happend then I put on all 3 and all the leds lit up in the white colour.Maby like you said it has a break in the solder somewhere.
