Hey all
ok so im finally set up with a nice rig and wanted to do a little more than just the usual beach driving.
What are some great places to go and camp in WA. And i mean real camping.
Im pretty new to the whole 4 wheel driving thing so dont want to get chucked in the deep end.
Im confident in the beach driving now without hassel.

Any info or ideas would be great.
Look forward to hearing where everyone heads to :)

Whereabouts in WA are ya, Cobber?

If your from Perth then driving the Beaches is very restricted until you get well North of Two Rocks and South of Dawesville. Camping even more so.

I sure wouldn't be heading to Lancelin till the Xmas Hol's are over.

Try the Western Patrol Club and/or Camping W.A. if you are new to 4wd'ing for a lot of good info.

Tuesday is going to be warm and the docker won't start blowing hard until fairly late so you picked a good day, should be very nice indeed in the morning but watch that rising tide if you head down in the arvo

mate im near Perth but am will to drive a bit just to get away.
Damn right im not going to Lancelin. Will be bloody busy.
Really an over nighter on the beach, would that be such a big deal? no fires or anything?

So Tuesday sounds like a good day.
How can you tell if its going to be nice? Im useless with that sort of this hahaha

There are a heap of weather sites around that display weather predictions out for up up to 7 days and each has a different feel to them.
The one I like the most for a 5 second check is Seabreeze

If you are after a whole lot of info then Weatherzone is def one of the top 3

Beach and Dune Driving -
Illegal and totally prohibited until you get to Gin Gin Shire (about 5 K's or so North of Two Rocks) or Tims Thicket which is Beach only not Dunes (about 5 K's south of Dawesville Cut) until down near Myalup
Beach Camping - Is illegal outside of designated Camp and Town Sites in all Shires for 100's of K's North or South. The degree of enforcement varies significantly from Shire to Shire and if you happen to fall asleep on your swag waiting for a bite with a line in the water then that is OK

Google teh Shires for more specifics or check out Camping WA, Explore OZ, Town Websites etc as it is too involved to list on here... or consider joining a 4WD Club. There are no 'bad' ones (check out the WA4WDA website for about 29 of em... but I have to admit bias towards the Western Patrol Club or Peel
