Hi Folks,
I finally got my hands on my first Patrol last week (89 SWB GQ) and am pretty happy with the little beast.
One issue, however. The rear seat was removed when I bought it and when I went to fit it last night, noticed that it seems to have had some "remedial" work done to it. The steel rung on the floor that it clips to looks very home made and when unclipped, the seat does not fold all the way forward.
It actually only tilts around 45 degrees forward.
Is this normal or should it fold all the way forward to 90 degrees?
I don't know anyone with a shorty that I can check out for comparison, so any info would help.
Cheers
John

Hi Istari, GQ SWB should fold all the way forward mate.

Ive seen GQ SWb fold all the way 90 degrees as standard.

Used to own a GQ shorty and my seats folded all the way down too.

Thanks guys -
I had a closer look tonight and reckon the previous owner had reversed the hinges on each side of the seat. This buys you about 2 inches of extra leg room (handy) but does not allow you to fold the seat forward.
It would also explain why I had to mount the hold down cleat so far back that it doesn't engage properly.
Will test the theory on the weekend to see if it fixes it.
Cheers
