My starts back with a XW fairmont wagon and a XT falcon wagon as parts for XW. (young and didn't know what I was doing eventually sold off.

Mazda Bongo Van, was going to drive to WA and was told bulldust holes would swallow me up and Id be stranded, so sold it and stayed here. Some where fits story of Mrs getting caught driving unreg, no lic, & false plates. that's another thread.

ZG fairlane, rusty sills, around rear screen, (still didn't know anything) someone I trusted stuffed with carby and it wouldn't even run anymore.

Chrysler by chrysler CM model originally from a wrecker and had been bodged badly got rid of.

A couple of of valiants VJ type. Still lack of knowledge and listening to bad info.

Couple of speedway/ demo berby cars: ej holden, xc falcon, centura. But only actually used XC.

Toyota crown that had a dead motor and apparently was the rarest of crown motors and couldn't get parts. I was told the box wouldn't mount to other crown motors. SCRAP.

Austin Kimberely ended up going to scrap because no mate was interested in helping me with engine diagnostics.

little early dato 1200 with no keys to get into it. sold to a friend. it had no rust.

Couple of dodge trucks, one was on a HQ chasis with fabricated sides to suit and was advised wouldn't pass modification tag so stipped and sold.

Since all the above I learnt and grew. Regrets yeah sure. But no Dad since aged 14, I had no one around to guide me past those who use your vulnerability to people out to make a buck and lead you on.
So I've learn't the hard way.

So then I went on to own a HK ute that I used to drive around Glenwood(near gympie) unreg with no floor in tray painted house paint white.

Eventually getting an XB GS Falcon wagon that was pretty rusty but got Rego. It lasted a while until I traded to a mate who owned a wrecking yard in Loganholme against a HZ holden wagon.

It was my baby, I put hotwires with 235/?/14 TA's on it, with UHF and SSB sets, 6 speaker racket maker, spotties. I camped, fished, worked in this beast.I still mis it.

Alas a Boral semi decided I didn't need my beast anymore and took me on @ Ma Ma Creek Rd. Lucky by the time we hit was low speed impact and I walked away.

From there we went to an XE falcon wagon. It was just a hack.

Got a VC commodore wagon and sold the XE. Found the commodore to small inside.

Traded it for another hz which turned out to be clagged.

So went for loan on patrol/cruiser and bought VS commodore. which was written off by Indian Taxi driver.

next car to get around in was VN commodore which was another hack.
Then bought VX bvefroe getting FINLY.

Have also had 2x 1966 era dato utes, 1 neededserious cut and shut pillar and roof job and other was parts. A toyota small truck never got round to rego, and recently made money on a VN commodore and Corolla that I bought cheap and sold.

So very determineed to finish Valiant,Austin and F truck.

I haven't owned many cars, only been driving 5 years:

1. Citroen AX 1991 1.0L petrol, 3 door, 4 speed manual, White
great for being lightweight, so accellerated well, however pretty sure it was made from tin and plastic

2. Skoda Fabia 1999 1.4L petrol, 5 door, 5 speed manual, Yellow
very nippy car, and very reilable (basically a cheapo VW)

3. Ford Telstar TX5 Ghia 1991 2.2L petrol, 5 door, 3 speed auto, Grey
very comfy, but i dont like autos

4. Mitsubishi Lancer VRX 2009 2.4L petrol, 5 door, 5 speed manual, Blue (current)
love this car sooooooo much. So much fun to drive

5. Nissan Patrol GQ ST 1997 2.8L TD, 5 Door? 5 Speed Manual, Maroon & Silver (current)
biggest thing i've ever driven, but drives like a normal sized car.

2 cars i want to own:
Mini Cooper S JCW (non-cabrio version) - black with union jack on the roof (for the every day car)
Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 SV (a girl can dream - right?)

Hmmm?

First car was Mazda RX4 13B Rotary 4 door! Massive 4 barrel sitting on top the thing went like the clappers. => Canaries an thought it would be too hard to make good...Damn it should have fixed her up.

HZ Prem Wagon with a 308. bit of a slug after the 13B but a great big wagon and cruised down the road. => wrote it off a couple of times then sold it as a wreck for a big loss.

Datsun 1600 wagon with an 1800 in it, gave it a hard time and carries half a ton of tools around in it for a year. I did a run from Eastern suburbs Melbourne to Geelong with 6m lengths of steel on the roof rack once. Funny as hell. Silly boy i was. Went to wreckers when i went over seas for a couple of years.

HJZ75 LandCruiser Tray back up in PNG for a couple of years. Great car.

Toyota HiAce LWB diesel till it blew up and traded

Mitsubishi Starwagon for a couple of year when i got home (company car) went like a rocket. Rung its neck.

Early Laser was a great little car.

XF fairmont Ghia => Brought this off a friend!! THE WORST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. This was a bucket of puss. My "Friend" had driven it into the ground and should have sent it to the smelter for crushing but took my hard earned with a dodgy roadie to boot. I got this car cause it was on LPG and i was running down the hwy to work. This was a permanent bleed and cost way way more to keep running than the savings off LPG. Cost me a fortune and a friendship. I took it into SIMS on a trailer and watched them drive over it with an excavator before ripping the roof off and then dropping from a great height.

1985 Hilux with a 2lt Petrol. Single cab, full of rust, full builders rack on the back, Fire engine Red, Looked Tough as and got me into 4wding in a big way.

Went looking for a good tourer after joining a club and after much much discussion and realising the far better value in the GQ over the 80 series bought a 1992 Mav with a TD42. I had been looking for a year, i had been a Toyota all the way kinda guy but the right people told me that the 80s were nice to sit in but for hard stuff the GQ was tougher than though.

I found the Mav with a TD42 sitting on its belly in a wholesale yard with 250,000kms and no lift. a roof rack and sun viser and a rooted clutch. paid $15,000 and never looked back. See my build in the sig line.

A mitsubishi Pajero IO for the misses, like a RAV4 but little Paj. had a dual transfer case and rear and centre Diff lock as standard. should have kept it and turned it into a little bush truck but the after market parts for it were basically no existent and lots of guys here may never have heard on one. Think i might go get a Zuk

Traded the Paj in on the GU IV TD42Ti => GREAT TRADE!!!!

Also have a BA XR6 Ute that i have commuted to work in for the last 6 years, getting a bit long in the tooth now but never ever given me any real trouble and been very neglected. Would buy a new one in a blink, great to drive and like the look of them.

still got a couple of Bikes in the shed that dont get ridden enough.

Thats me.

First Car was a Daihatsu Feroza bought it brand new in 95.
Still have it today.
Over the years it has copped an absolute flogging.
Have busted 3 clutches, front diff, gearbox.
Replaced the chassis that rusted from the inside.
Rebuilt the motor 12 months ago, and am now doing the engine again.
(Lent it to a mate who drove it through a waterhole and sucked it full of water:driving2:)
Plenty of panel damage too over the years.
Am VERY attached to this car and will probably never sell it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/Thunda37/Tannum%204wd%20-%20August%202009/DSC_0489.jpg

Then bought a Black VY Holden Ute in about 2005 cause I had always wanted one.
Great car but couldn't go bush in it.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/Thunda37/StormUte005.jpg

Only had it a few years and then sold it and got the 2006 GU Coily Ute back in 2007.
Have been modifying it ever since.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/Thunda37/Ute%20Tray%20Build/DSC_0104.jpg

Next one will probably be a dual cab ute of some sort, ready for kids.:1087:

Ummmm .... here goes .... each car with brief description:

1. Nissan Pulsar Vector 1.8 litre - absolute speed machine, good for pulling chicks - even had the 'aunger plastic blinds' on the back window (very sexy) ...
2. Nissan Pulsar Q 2.0 litre - well, what can I say, if I got the chicks before, then this machine made them fight over me ...
3. Nissan Patrol 90 GQ tb42e tray back on dual fuel - let's face it, with my looks, and the cars I had previously atttracting the 'chicks', I needed a unit for pigging (lol) ...
4. Nissan Pathfinder 3.0ltre V6 (1996 model) - great unit - loved it ... was just right for my lifestyle at the time ... i.e. I got drunk a lot and being short, I could sleep in the back!! ...
5. Nissan 200SX 2.0 litre (2000 model) - daily driver ... absolute bucket, and I wore it like a jacket (i.e. I'm somewhat of a big unit, and this thing was like putting on a dinner suit) ...
6. Toyota Hilux 3.0ltr Turbo Diesel - lasted about 6 months - looked like a real machine, but peformed poorly ... sort of like Willie Mason ... actually, exactly like Willie Mason ...
7. Kia Sportage - ex wife's car that she wanted for 4WD'ing ... yeah, made me giggle too ... that's why she the "ex wife"!!!! ....
8. Subaru Liberty 1.8ltr - the car I bought my ex wife while she was in hospital delivering our first child ... she knew nothing about it - sold the Sportage from right out underneath her - I showed her who's boss - then should took everything I owned (that kind of back fired on me hey??) LOL ....
9. Nissan Patrol 2002 GU 3.0 ltr TD - my first GU - what more needs be said ... bootiful!!!!
10. Subaru Liberty RB 2.ltr - my daily driver for work
11. Nissan Patrol 2003 GU 3.0 ltr TD - my second GU - called "canyonero" (it's the one on my abum page) - weapon and loved it - the chicks didn't though for some reason ... could it be me??
12. HSV 2004 Clubsport 6.0 ltr - new daily driver, and quite frankly, with me behind the wheel, it was just a coffin on wheels ...
13. HSV 2005 Grange 6.0 ltr - still have it to this day ... enough said ...
14. Nissan Patrol 92 GQ Ti - current patrol and ongoing project ... kids call it "The Tank" - big, boxy and gunbarrel grey ... this one is a love affair for me ...

So there you go ... 14 cars, 8 of them Nissans, and 4 patrols ...

1st car was a hand-me-down from my older sister.
lil 86 model gemini, had to get rid of it as it was old, sounded like it will explode at 100km/h and radiator was incredibly wrecked haha
second and current is a lil 89 honda civic hatchback, it's done pretty sweet at the moment.
and my current/ not current car is the patrol gq safari model.
bought it with my mate half half to go to perth and back,
i want to buy out his half when we are done...but he wants to buy out my half when we are done =S

Ok, I think I remember them all...
I bought my first car at the end of 1980...
1964 Ford Mk1 Cortina 4door,$90, it was painted with Mission Brown house paint, had 4 different coloured doors nick named "Shake Rattle 'n' Roll" cause thats exactly what it did, owned it for 3 months and traded it on...
1971 HG Holden Kingswood, $2,100, this was a pearler 1 owner car, an elderly couple from the country owned it. I killed it... little by little over the next 14 months, traded it on...
1973 HQ Holden Kingswood, $$$, 308 V8 with GTS Dash, I kept this one for maybe 3 or 4 years, it had a back to bare metal respray and HJ rear panel work fitted, with suspension mods this was one of my favorite rides, it handled like it was on rails... pretty good for a HQ :), I sold this to some poor bugger after being run into the curbing and cracking the now not so straight chassis... At the same time, I had a FB Holden Wagon that someone had butchered a red motor fit into it, I was going to rebuild this, but after it was defected I lost enthusiasm, it met with the crushers, I also had a 1969 AT114 Dodge Panel Van, was gunna do this one up as a touring/camper van, traded this on...
1977 FJ55 Landcruiser Wagon... not much to add here LOL... except we didn't buy the caravan or take off on that still not done around Australia trip. Traded this on...
1980 Mazda E1600 van, I was convinced I could make a living cleaning carpets if I had a van to cart the gear around in... soon found I didn't like cleaning carpets! Traded this on...
1974 CL Chrysler by Chrysler 360 V8, White vinyl on White duco, another very nice ride (hint... don't run Firestones on heavy cars... NO traction on wet roads) I sold this to my brother, it being a 6 seater served his purposes at the time. I later sold it on his behalf for more than I sold it to him for! next...
1970 HG Holden Premier, I remember doing motor swaps on this car but not why or when we got rid of it (too much/ just enough alcohol :) )...
1974 HQ Holden Kingswood 253 V8, I bought this off mum when dad passed away, mum didn't drive and needed the dough more than the car, I gave her more than they were in the car yards at the time, I sub-sequentially sold this about a year later at a huge loss...
1968 HB Torana, I remember the lady selling this wanted $900 I talked her down to $450, it had a Brabham 4 banger in it and went like the clappers, I sold this for $600 and did nothing to it...
1971 Datsun Coupe, This cost me a slab of beer... No 1/2 a slab of beer, I helped my mates neighbor drink them after we got the car back to my place. He was going to pay $50 to have it towed away. It needed a radiator, battery and puncture repair, and some panel massaging, btw I put the battery from my car in it, pumped the tyre up, filled the radiator and left the cap off and drove it the 10 minutes to my place :) bonus...
1974 XB Ford Falcon, this was a bucket, I think a brother in-law bought it...
1977 XC Ford Fairmont, it had all the bells and whistles except for the free fuel card it needed :) ...
1980 GE Chrysler Sigma Wagon, the family was expanding and we needed two cars so...
1972 GB Chrysler Galant sedan, a friend of my wifes had a friend of hers do a service on this car and then couldn't get it to run, after she put up with 3 months of this car sitting in her driveway she just wanted rid of it for what it currently owed her $380 so I bought it and fixed it in her drive, seems the guy who did the service bought the wrong dizzy cap, I did offer her her money back...
1970 GA Chrysler Galant sedan, I quite liked the GB but it had a slightly twisted front end so this defected GA ($170) became a body donor... It still lives/sits on a property of my brothers rusting away slowly...
1964 Chevrolet Belair RHD, I loved this car, and by now was no longer with the missus. Next missus wouldn't drive it and seeing as I was at the wheel of her VB Commodore when 2 school girls drove into it (righting it off), it had to go and was replaced with...
1990 VN Commodore exec, not much to add here... Except this became the missus' car and I needed transport...
1985 LB Holden Astra, $250, it was all I needed to get to and from work in and it was the right price...
1960 Chevrolet Belair RHD, once you've owned 1 big cruise machine there's not much else. This was my daily driver for the first 4 or 5 years, its now in the shed and daily driving duties went to...
2004 VZ Holden Commodore exec, it had a GTO body kit, was lowered and running on 18" wheels, none of which allowed for getting to my new found interest, beach fishing, enter...
1999 GU Nissan Patrol, one thing I found is although I have the means to get me to the fishing spots I still haven't got there :)

And Thats where all the bloody money has gone LOL :1087:

OK.....Let the trip down memory lane begin...

1. 1985 Honda XL 250RF with the black metal fuel tank - sold it after 2 years. Needed a car.
2. 1972 XA Falcon 4 door with front bench seat and Speco 3 on the floor conversion from 3 on the tree - The Beast. Lent it to a mate who blew up the engine. Didnt bother fixing it.
3. 1978 VB Commodore with 5.0L V8 and 4 speed manual - got stolen. Never got it back.
4. 1972 ZD Fairlane - didn't go. Bought it for parts. Put the 302 Windsor in my ski boat. Sold the rest.
5. 1984 Kawasaki GPZ900R - first real bike. Rode it from Darwin to Sydney and back via Townsville. What a fantastic trip.
6. 1993 VR Commodore Clubsport lookalike - very nice ride. Got rid of it after a relationship breakup.
7. 1973 VJ Valiant Charger 770 with 4 speed manual and 265 Hemi. Had it for 15 years. Still got it. No, I wont sell it. LOL..
8. 1998 Suzuki GSX750F - first new anything. Really nice bike. Sold it to go overseas.
9. 1992 Mitsubishi Lancer - kinda not mine as my wife brought it with her when she moved in. It was mine when it needed work though! LOL. We gave that one to the oldies when we left the country.
10. 1996 Honda Accord - had it for 2.5 years whilst living overseas.
11. 1998 Mitsubishi Verada - A fantastic car. Got written off in a hail storm after we'd had it for 5 years.
12. 1990 Honda CBR1000F - these bikes have a real cult following. Sold it when bub came along. Try as I might, couldn't get that baby seat to fit the gear rack. LOL
13. 1973 VJ Valiant Charger - scored a rolling body with a few useful bits on it. Practically gave it away when I was finished with it.
14. 2008 Mitsubishi 380 Platinum - bought this to replace the Verada. Underrated cars. Shame they dont make them anymore. Still got it.
15. 2005 Mazda 3 Hatch - top little car, but needed to make way for a real car, err truck.
16. 1982 Ducati 900 SD - A good mate used to own it many years ago. He sold it to another mate who pulled it apart, couldnt put it back together again and dropped it off at my place about 6 years later! LOL! Still got it.
17. 2006 Nissan Patrol GUIV as per my members ride. Love it love it love it! I've done a bit of wheeling in my time, but I never had my own bush beast before!
18. 2002 Ducati 900SS - my toy. Dream bike from, well, forever!

Thanks Finly for starting this thread. Some great memories in that list above.

Cheers,

Steve

By the looks of it theres a lot of motorvehicle enthusiasts here!

I havent had that many cars in my time but I've never sold one!! still got them all over in the paddock!

Mazda 929 wagon ---First Car-Not registered, just a paddock basher
Holden Scurry Van ---Tiny little crappy van. Top speed 80km/h. But i could sleep in it!
VC Commodore
VH commodore
another VH Commodore ---Sh!t hot 202, stage 3 cam, straight cut timing gears, elec. dizzy, celica 5 speed, webber then holley, etc etc. It went so hard.
1978 Corolla hatchback ---mild engine, suspension work. Great little car.
VS Calais ----mmm luxury leather and wood lol, pump up shocks, all factory options etc, only a V6 but beautiful car (got put to rest against a tree------by my mate!!) but thats ok because it led to:
91 GQ Ti wagon

thats about it.............
Then i re-read the thread title and saw it included non registered cars. This is where it gets interesting!
We get old cheap cars and "put them through there paces" over in what we call "the rally paddock" lol.
So between me and 4 or 5 friends we have a lot of cars over there.
actually just did a count yesterday........63 cars! yep 63! it suprised me too!
We got Toyotas, Mazdas, Holdens, datsuns, fords, daihatsus, isuzu, etc etc i'll have to get a proper list one day.

Im a bit boring lol,
Due to company cars over the years I've only ever had to own 3, only the first 2 were daily drivers.

1st - 86 Pajero SWB (written off lol)
2nd - 87 Nissan pathfinder
3rd - 92 Ford Maverick

Inherited when I married my wife - 97 Holden Astra
Wifes current car - 05 Mazda 6 Sport

Lucky its only for cars you have owned, I'd be in trouble remembering all the company bangers

1) 1966 Ford Cortina - 1st and best street car I ever owned! I still want it back! CUSTOM
2) XB Falcon VinylTop - (2nd owner!)- Picked her up from the RTA carpark as the original owner (92 years young) had his daughter go out and rego it so they could sell it. Had it for two weeks and sold it to mates for a profit- but they cut it up for a drag conversion! (Blasphemy!)
3) LX Torana - $50 doorless, windowless, GUTLESS paddock basher
4) 240 Volvo - Ex's hack that i drove her everywhere in, always got pulled over cos it rolled all over the road & the cops though i was drunk!
5) 1995 Mitsubishi Express SWB - Blew it up & sold to the wreckers
6) 00' Mitsubishi Express SWB - Bought new & had nothing but problems - replaced two sets of rings before a year had passed.
7) 1995 Toyota Camry - Had a kid and needed the seats! Found out that I needed to replace the head gasket and legitimately was written off the very next day in a bad accident! (As luck would have it!)
8) 1995 EA Falcon Wagon - Great hack of a car! Still going strong. Taught my wife how to drive in it (Has the battle scars to proove it!). Hit many a 4x4 track in it with great success! (Got us through the Bloomfield track!)
9) 1998 Subaru Impreza WRX - Brilliant drive! (Sold it to get......you guessed it!)
10) 1995 GU NISSAN PATROL! Will never go back!!!! (Except for my everyday work vehicle!)
