Ok td42 no turbo, occasionally it will run on after I kill the ignition, i thought this only happened to petrol motors with vac advance/timing issues. Has anyone got any ideas what causes this. I cant make it happen, sometimes it will happen if ive just moved her around and stopped within a minute other times itll do it when i shut her down after a long stint, its got me buggered. HELP :1087::1087:

TD42's are shut down by the fuel cut solenoid on the injector pump so I suspect you fault will be related to that. The solenoids are known to fail though usually they will fail in the shut down position and not allow the car to start.

Never had to test one myself so not exactly sure, I'd be talking to a diesel specialist.

I'm OK thanks mate but things have been a bit hectic for me lately and it's not going to get any better for a while yet. Just jumped on here while I had a few spare minutes.

I've had that on my rig. The solution was a 4x normal dose of injector cleaner. Not sure if it was a gummed up fuel cut off valve or a gummed up injector. But that fuel system snake oil seemed to have taken care of the problem.
