Just wondering if anyone has used any of the products listed by 'cost effective maintenance'?

http://www.costeffective.com.au/ftc_decarboniser.php

A mate of mine suggested some of engine clean-out products as a good place to start with the 1998 Nissan GU 4.2D that I have just bought. It has 350, 000 on the clock and I am not really sure of its service history so I want to give it a good clean both inside and out.

The products sound pretty good on the site (as you would expect) but I really want to know if anyone has used them and what there, non-salesperson, view is.

I recommend it . I used (use) Cost Effective maintenance engine flush in my GQ 97 2.8. I had a good improvement in running and performance. A large amount of sludge is flushed out. Make sure you use cheap non non diesel oil for the flush. You then use a maintenance dose each oil change (adding and running before oil change)
I had a challenge as to why I did not flush 6 litres of diesel for 5 minutes then drain and add new oil.... Not brave enough was my answer.
