OK all, put your photos of you stuck here.
This photo was taken on the way home from having a play underneath the Mandurah bridge, youngest son said "dad drive through there" and of course I did, nearly 2 hours to get out.
That's when I decided to get a Mighty GQ (well not really)

Well Ross, if you don't get stuck sometimes you are not trying hard enough mate, but I have to say that it the first time that I have ever been recovered (and it had to be put on TV didn't it)
I did recover the Zook a few times that weekend though, I would rather be recovered by Simon (Zook) than Grizz in the Landcrab.

Here's one of me stuck up at Glass House Mountains, sorry about the picture quality. If you look closely, you can see me lying on the bonnet trying to hook the snatch strap onto the recovery point. Oh the shame of it, recovered by a Landcruiser!

http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/xx224/tonyh01/TonysStrapconnectingv2-1.jpg

To balance things up, here's a pic taken at Levuka 4WD park a few years ago. This is a completely standard Prado hire car that my mate Darren was driving. It was actually his second Prado for the week end, he broke the rear diff in the first one, then convinced the hire company to send out a tilt tray to drop off a replacement and take away the dead one.

I know one things for sure Tony, Landcrab or not, It beats the hell out of walking & as im sure you'll agree, the shame I can live with, being stuck in the middle of nowhere in the dark walking though mud & socked to the bone? Not so much.......lol

By the time Darren got the Prado back to the hire company, he'd given it a full detail inside and out (he'd worked as a car detailer for 2 years), and refitted the bits of bumper bar that he tore off in that mud hole using a soldering iron and zip ties. He actually got his deposit back!

That photo was taken at Keniworth SF.
Just out of shot to the left, the track forks. Old mate tried to take the right hand track but turned to late (lockrite in the front diff may have affected steering also?), so he ended up pointing between the tracks. Instead of doing a stall start to reverse he pushed the clutch in and let it roll back a bit so he could have another go. Unfortunately he let it roll a bit too far and the LHR wheel rolled up onto the back we were standing on, and the car gently fell on its side.

P.S. maybe we should call the blandcruises instead of landcrabs?

the bank was giving way and the further forward I went the worse it got. It was gonna go regardless but the strap was a last ditch attempt at keeping the rear on high ground. Unfortunately didn't work and yes the drop was more severe than the photos actually show

Hey Arinol, great photos there mate, but please invest in some snatch straps and some rated recovery points for your Patrol.
Recovering with ropes attached to the tow ball is just asking for trouble, if they give, and they do, then someone could get injured or worse.
If you require any further info on this just let me know or do a search on You Tube.
Just found these threads, was going to PM them to you but thought that it may be better to post them here as a reminder to eveyone.

Check out the ultimate Campers stand at the next show and this pic is one of their backgrounds on a display board. We have it all on video.

Hi Doggy,
No, did not get pulled out by a landcrab. My mate in front of me had a Gu Patrol ute to hook onto. I never, ever, ever thought that I would witness water rushing out of my truck upon opening doors but there you go, I did it and I saw it, (the water running out.)
Mum said to me after that episode, "now has that got rid of all the extreme tendencies to have a go at everything? and shall we just get on with the driving around and looking at things in a pedestrian manner that results in no damage or detriment to our quality of 4wding lifestyle!!!
I confidently replied I will never never know if I never have a go.
